The words of Master Hahnemann that patient’s own language is the most accurate expression of his disease is the very foundation of this work by dr. Herbert A. Roberts. This book solves a student’s problem of perceiving the patient’s symptom in his layman language, converting it to rubrics and then finding the similimum.

It is believed that effective prescriptions in homeopathy can only be made by understanding the core essence of the patient as an individual which includes his mental state, psychological and behavioral aspects along with the physical symptoms.

As per Dr. Kent’s hierarchy, More importance has been given to the mental symptoms. The difference in the approach of Dr. Roberts is visible in the emphasis that has been given to the reactions and sensations of the emotions rather than emotions or the feelings itself.

While the other repertories do give subjective symptoms interspersed with objective and clinical signs and symptoms, this book brings out the subjective symptoms as rubrics with their corresponding remedies exclusively.

The book is of immense use to a homeopathy student who is willing to step into his clinical practice and prescribe homeopathy, the classical Hahnemannian way. This repertory is in no way a substitute to the core repertories but comes in handy in all cases where the regular course of repertorization fails to reveal the simillimum. This special repertory may in such cases provide a clue to a remedy not included in the general repertory, or not so strikingly brought to our mind. This is the field of Sensations As If, as one possible indicator of the elusive simillimum.
